I am playing my Seasonal Classics: 40 songs for Fall album and right now I’m listening to the song September Song as I write this post. Fall is my favorite season of the year. I love the colors, the fall clothes, the soft cool breeze you feel throughout the day and how fall days go by at a slower pace. This year Fall started on September 22nd and since then I’ve been slowly changing, decorating and transitioning my home into the new season giving it a touch of Autumn. Its not always easy to start decorating your home with any season. So, here are a couple of simple ways you can add that touch of Autumn to your home.
1. Start with your sense of smell. Bring aromas of Fall into your home.
Pumpkin pie, cinnamon apple cider, clove and orange scents are ways to get inspired by Fall.Use candles, incense, or boil a pot of spices – like cinnamon sticks, cloves, and nutmeg. One of my favorite candles right now are:
Twilight woods from Bath & Body Works
EVOQUE – CINNAMON NOIR CANDLE from BodyFactory
Glade Maple Pumpkin from Target
2. Simple and Functional Decor around the house.
Use mason or decorative glass jars. These are my favorite decor items cause they come in all shapes and sizes. You can fill these with fall color soaps, or towels in the bathroom. You can also filled them with Halloween candy. Your decor can be seasonal, functional and beautiful.
3. Add Color and Warmth to every Room.
The living room is the room that brings the whole house or apartment together. Its probably where you and your family spend most of your time. So spice it up with fall colors by changing your throw pillows with fall color ones, adding some warm plush throws and if you have area rugs layer them. Don’t forget about your coffee table or end table center pieces.
Keep the theme going even in your bathroom(s) with Fall color towels and art decor on your bathroom walls.
4. Don’t forget your main entrance – Your front house Door!
Before your guest or family members smell Fall, see your beautiful colorful and warm decor welcome them with a wreath on your front door. You can also add more fall decorations on your door steps or on the edge of your lawn. You can find these at your local hardware store, target, or Michaels.
5. Don’t forget about the people that live in your Home…
Get your family into the season by attending to sporting events, fairs, picking apples in orchards, or Pumpkin Patch. Enjoy the outdoors with your family before Winter COMES!
Hope you liked and got inspired to bring your home into the season as I am with mine. Leave a comment or share some of your ideas or tips.
Enjoying the Fall Season,
